Save the date for our spring Read-a-Thon–an event that will raise money for the Monroe PTA and encourage students’ love of reading! From March 25 through April 24, the PTA will be encouraging Monroe students to read 20 minutes per day for a total of 10 hours of reading. Students can get pledges from family and friends to support their reading–flat donations or a dollar amount per hour completed. There will be prizes for the classrooms with the most participation. Students who complete a reading bingo card will be entered into a raffle for an additional prize.
We need parent volunteers for two things (1) to donate cookies, and (2) to help at our kick-off event on March 23th and 24th. Every class will visit the amphitheater to pick up a free book and a cookie and receive Read-a-Thon instructions. Parent volunteers will pass out cookies and help each student choose a book to take home. Sign up for cookie donations and volunteer shifts below!

Hello parents!
We need volunteers to help sell books to students during our book fair week, as well as set-up and clean-up. The book fair setup is on Tuesday, 4/21, and then runs Wednesday through Friday after school, with cleanup on Friday evening. During the week classes will come in to purchase books (and every child gets to pick out a book). On Friday after school we will have the book fair open for families and we will invite newly admitted families to visit.
Please sign up for a few volunteer shifts here — we really need your support! Spanish and Chinese speakers are welcome, we can provide translation for instructions.
