Safe Routes to School/Carpool

Dear School Community,

San Francisco Safe Routes to School is excited to roll out a carpooling campaign, just in time for some winter weather.

During the months of January and February, we are asking driving families to share the ride. If you drop off and pick up your kids every day, there are thousands of other parents out there just like you. Pairing up with just one other family would mean half as many trips to school!

Check out the SF Safe Routes to School website for carpooling tips and resources, and the mobile application Kid CarPool to find matches and organize a carpool.

From now through February 28th, carpooling families have an opportunity to win tickets to local family-friendly experiences such as the SF Zoo, the California Academy of Sciences, the Aquarium of the Bay, the Children’s Creativity Museum, and more! Plus, you will earn points for your school in the Earth Day Every Day Challenge.

In order to be entered into the drawing, you can either:

Sign up for Kid CarPool,
Post a photo of your carpool on social media with the hashtags #SFThingToDo or #SFCarPoolToSchool, or
Email a photo of your carpool to pauli.ojea@sfgov.org

We hope you will join us in this effort and give carpooling a try this winter!
